I'm sorry, but your intent is lost on me with this study.
Your couplet tells of the reason for her melancholy, but your picture seems confusing because of it. Please allow me to explain.
As she is leaning against the wall, her stance suggests a sense of non urgency. She has taken the time to find a cigarette which seems to have no relevance here at a time of high emotion. Her head is tilted to one side in a manner which could, in other circumstances suggest vulnerability, but coupled with the fact that her eyes are closed and with her mouth partially open in such a manner, I would expect to be seeing smoke exhaled, again suggesting nonchalance or perhaps a sense of weariness. Her right hand is also relaxed, not suggestive of a state of high emotion and anguish, and certainly not begging. Unless he's telepathic I would say she's failed. I would say he's already left, and in a hurried manner at that, seeing as how she's not yet fully dressed and still has her hair in rollers.
